Author- Morgan Matson

Book Synopsis: Before the scandal, Andie had important plans. And zero of them involved walking an insane amount of dogs, being in the same house as her dad or hanging out with Clark. Now there’s a whole summer stretching out in front of Andie without a plan. And Andie ALWAYS sticks to the plan. But here’s the thing- if everything’s always mapped out, you can never find the unexpected. And where’s the fun in that?

Book Review: OMG THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!! I’ve heard so many people talk about this book and they’ve all said it was super good so I knew i would definitely have to read it. I’m just so annoyed at myself for leaving it on my TBR shelf for so long! I have always loved a good love story and this one didn’t disappoint me in the slightest, it was just so cute and romantic awwww!! I’ve only read one other Morgan Matson book which was Since You’ve Been Gone and that was also amazing, I’m just so in love with her style of writing and how well it seems to flow with the story. I definitely ship Andie and Clark they’re just so damn cute together and the ending had me so anxious to find out what was going to happen I almost burst! I’m also in love with this book because there is a pug on the front and back cover and I love pugs so much hehe.

Would I recommend this book?

YES!! If you love a good romantic teen story then this book is a must for you! It was just so good I can’t fault it at all! I am definitely going to buy her other books now! If you have read this book already feel free to comment down below telling me if you enjoyed this book and what your favourite part was!

My November TBR!!🍂🍁📚📖

Published November 1, 2016 by KiraReadsBooks

It’s the 1st of November which means its even closer to Christmas and the start of another great reading month!

I’ve picked 4 books to try and read this month, but hopefully I will read more than 4 to try and make up for only reading 2 books in October which is just shocking aha! The books I have chosen to read this month are….

  • The Unexpected Everything- Morgan Matson
  • The Haters- Jesse Andrews
  • In the dark, in the woods- Eliza Wass
  • Radio Silence- Alice Oseman

I have finally started The Unexpected Everything today after saying I was going to read it about 1000 times aha, and I’m loving it so far. My boyfriend Callum bought me In the dark, in the woods and Radio Silence (because he’s amazing) so I’ve decided to read them both this month and I’m super excited to read them as I’ve never read anything by either of these authors before! The Haters is a book I haven’t heard a lot about but I love the front cover and it sounds like it’s going to be a good book!

I would love to know what books you are planning on reading this month so feel free to comment down below!!

I only managed to read 2 books this month which is so annoying because I know I could’ve read more but I kinda fell into a bit of a reading slump this month and only just got out of it! I am determined to read more books in November though!

My TBR pile is still so big and I know it’s going to continue growing because I keep seeing more new books that I want aha! Onto the books I read this month which were..

  • Hollow City- Ransom Riggs
  • Library of Souls- Ransom Riggs

I have posted reviews for both these books so feel free to check them out! My plan for November is to hopefully read 5 books as I’ve been slacking a bit these last few months aha!

Let me know in the comments what books you read this month, or what books you’re planning on reading in November! Also, feel free to leave book suggestions!

Library of Souls Book Review!📖📚📖📚

Published October 31, 2016 by KiraReadsBooks

Author- Ransom Riggs

Library of Souls is the third and final book in the Miss Peregrine’s peculiar children series.

Book Synopsis: A BOY WITH EXTRAORDINARY POWERS. AN ARMY OF DEADLY MONSTERS. AN EPIC BATTLE FOR THE FUTURE OF PECULIARDOM. The adventure that began with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and continues with Hollow City comes to a thrilling conclusion with Library of Souls. As the story opens, sixteen-year-old Jacob discovers a powerful new ability, and soon he’s diving through history to rescue his peculiar companions from a heavily guarded fortress. Accompanying Jacob on his journey are Emma Bloom, a girl with fire at her fingertips, and Addison MacHenry, a dog with a nose for sniffing out lost children. They’ll travel from modern-day London to the labyrinthine alleys of Devil’s Acre, the most wretched slum in all of Victorian England. It’s a place where the fate of peculiar children everywhere will be decided once and for all. Like its predecessors, Library of Souls blends thrilling fantasy with never-before-published vintage photography to create a one-of-a-kind reading experience.

Book Review: I was a bit dubious about this book as a lot of reviews I had seen about it were quite negative and people were claiming it to be ‘boring’ and ‘not as action packed as the others’, but I can safely say that it was just as amazing as the other two books! It is very rare for me to read a series of books where i enjoy all of the books, but I love these books so much! Even though there were only 3 books, they have kept me hooked the entire way through and made me feel a whole bundle of emotions and feelings. I fell in love with the characters and the relationships between the characters (Jacob and Emma AWWWWW!!!) It keeps you guessing the entire way through and you start to question if certain people will survive, and the ending to the book was just perfect. I couldn’t have wished for a better ending to the trilogy! Yet again Ransom Riggs included some wonderful vintage photography which really brings the books to life and creates so much imagery to go alongside the story.

Would I recommend this book?

I would highly recommend reading this trilogy if you haven’t already, as it was just so amazing, and it’s so different from most books nowadays! If you have already read it please feel free to leave a comment down below telling me how you felt about the last book/whole trilogy and who your favourite character is!

Hollow City Book Review!📚📖

Published October 16, 2016 by KiraReadsBooks

Author- Ransom Riggs

Hollow City is the second book in the Miss Peregrine’s peculiar children series.

Book Synopsis: September 3, 1940. Ten peculiar children flee an army of deadly monsters. And only one person can help them- but she’s trapped in the body of a bird. The extraordinary journey that began in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children continues as Jacob Portman and his newfound friends journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. There, they hope to find a cure for their beloved headmistress, Miss Peregrine. But in this war-torn city, hideous surprises lurk around every corner. And before Jacob can deliver the peculiar children to safety, he must make an important decision about his love for Emma Bloom. Like its predecessor, this second novel in the Peculiar Children series blends thrilling fantasy with vintage photography to create a one-of-a-kind reading experience.

Review: Yet again Ransom Riggs has done an excellent job creating another fantastic novel. I thought the first book was brilliant, and this one was just as good! I am so happy he continued to use the vintage photographs as they really add a nice touch to the novel and helps you to visualise the characters. At the beginning of this book Ransom Riggs had included character pages to help you remember, which I find really interesting. The second book begins where the last book ended, in 1940. The children must travel from Wales to London in order to try to help save Miss Peregrine from being stuck in bird-form for the rest of her life. I feel like this book has more action and adventure than the first one as there are wights and hollows that chase the children, but it was just as good as the first one. As the children travel to London, they come across many issues and problems which they must deal with, which adds to the excitement. My favourite thing about this book is the fact that Ransom Riggs included talking animals!! How amazing and peculiar! I won’t reveal to you if they manage to save Miss Peregrine because you’ll just have to read the book and find out for yourselves! Mwahahaha!😋

I’ve just started the third and final book in the trilogy so I’m both excited and scared to read it! Hopefully no one I like dies!! I will be posting a review of that as soon as I finish it!

Would I recommend this book?

YES! Obviously if you haven’t read this series before then read the first book before this one, but you have to read it! Who doesn’t love talking animals?!

I would love to know what you thought about this book, whether you loved it or hated it and what was your favourite part?

Pop In A Box Subscription!💥💥

Published October 13, 2016 by KiraReadsBooks

Hello everyone!! It’s Thursday and today I received my first Pop In A Box package which contained 2 Pops! I was beyond excited to receive it and I couldn’t stop talking about it aha. If you don’t know what it is, basically they are collectible vinyl characters, and you can pretty much get Pops for anything! From movies, to TV Shows and Disney, there are Pops for everyone from all fandoms!

It costs £8.49 for 1 Pop per month- which is cheaper than buying them from the shops, and you can get upto 12 a month which costs £94.99, but obviously you don’t have to get that many aha! The postage and packaging is only £3.50 which is really good to be honest. The best thing I love about this subscription is the fact that you are able to go through all the different categories and thumbs up or down which Pops you do and don’t want. If you thumbs it up, you can get it, if you thumbs it down you will never receive that Pop from them. After you have done that, the people at Pop In A Box will see what you have liked and choose however many you’ve paid for and send them to you. You never know which Pops you will get so it’s super exciting! Plus, if you’re super lucky you may receive special gifts or extra Pops in your package which is amazing! These are the 2 Pops I received this month:

I know to some people this will be pretty damn awesome so if you would like to start subscribing to Pop In A Box I have a link you can use which allows you to get 20% off of your first order which will help a lot! Here is the Link

Epic Reads Book Tag!📚📖📚📖

Published October 10, 2016 by KiraReadsBooks

Happy Monday guys! It’s the start of another week, so I thought I would do another book tag because I love reading them, and writing them as you get to find out more about other bloggers! I can’t believe how quickly the days and weeks are going, it’s almost Christmas!!! So without further ado, here is my book tag…..

1. If you could invite one author and one of their fictional characters to tea, who would you invite and what would you serve them?

I would definitely invite J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter because I love them so much and who wouldn’t want to meet Harry Potter?! I would serve them tea and cakes, because I’m a typical British girl who loves tea and cake, and I think Harry and J.K. Rowling would love it too!

2. What book do you wish the author would write a prequel for?

Probably Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children as I would love to find out more about Jacobs Grandfathers story when he lived with Miss Peregrine and what he got upto when he was younger!

3. Which two characters (NOT from the same book) do you think would make a good couple?

Hermione Granger and Simon Lewis ( Mortal Instruments) because they’re both smart and it would be so cute!!💑Plus they could go on adventures together!

4. If you ran into your favorite author on the subway and only could say one sentence to them, who is it and what would it be?

It would probably be J.K, Rowling , and I would say: ‘ Make more books and make me the new character!’ That would be my dream, imagine reading about yourself going to Hogwarts and having adventures with Harry, Ron and Hermione!

5. What book made you a reader and why?

It would either be Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, or any of the Jacqueline Wilson books, because as soon as I picked them up I became obsessed with the feeling it gave me when I got into the story!

6. Incendio! Your bookshelf just caught on fire! Tell us the one book you save.

I can’t just save one! It’s against my nature, I must save them all! I will find a way to conquer the flames and save all my precious books!😍📖📚

7. Which dystopian world would you want to live in if you had to choose one? Why?

I think it’s pretty obvious from my previous answers, but it would definitely be HOGWARTS!! I would love to go to Hogwarts and get put into my House (Gryffindor obviously!) and learn how to play Quidditch. OOH it would be so good! I would wanna be best friends with Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger because I’m crazy like Luna and smart and sensible like Hermione.

8. What is your most epic read of all time?

I would say either The Girl on the Train or Gone Girl because they were absolutely amazing reads, and I am obsessed with Thrillers!

I really enjoyed doing this tag, so feel free to follow me and give me feedback on what you thought of my answers! Comment below if you complete this tag so I can read your versions and see what you pick!
